Alternatively, when using rotating blades that require high shear force and fixed height, laboratory jacks facilitate easy height adjustments to prevent sample spillage.

The knob type is suitable for low-load applications and adjusts the height by turning a knob. The ratchet handle type, suited for heavier loads, uses leverage for easier height adjustment and can have a removable handle to prevent accidents. The rotating grip ratchet handle type allows for quicker adjustment than the regular ratchet handle type. The choice of jack type depends on experimental requirements, materials used, and laboratory conditions. Regardless of type, it is important to observe load limits and perform regular maintenance to prevent accidents.
