In cases where numerous signals are involved, alternative solutions like elongated square connectors or D-sub connectors are often preferred. The choice between these connectors typically depends on the design and requirements of the equipment.
Additionally, circular connectors are also employed in connecting coaxial cables for high-frequency signal input.
Principle of Circular Connectors
For instance, transmitting images from a camera to a PC necessitates a dedicated signal line for image transmission, just as transmitting sound from a microphone requires a separate line for audio signals.
To simplify installation, these signal lines are often combined into a single cable with multiple twisted lines. Each line is soldered to specific pins on the connector, following a precise pin assignment. Correct pin assignment is critical, as errors can lead to severe issues, such as supplying voltage to communication lines, resulting in equipment damage. If a connected cable fails to operate equipment correctly, incorrect pin assignment is often the cause.
This way, by interconnecting cables and circular connectors, a comprehensive system is established, linking each device through these cables.
