What Are Frac Pumps?
Frac pumps are vacuum pumps used for gas exhaust in high vacuum environments.
Typically, frac pumps consist of two cylindrical metal barrels arranged within a cylindrical glass tube. These barrels rotate by an internal fan, with one barrel connected to the vacuum pump and the other connected to the container from which exhaust is desired. The rotation of the barrels pushes gas molecules towards the exhaust side.
Frac pumps are suitable for use in high vacuum environments where pressures are much lower than atmospheric pressure. They are used in experiments with subatomic particles or chemical reactions conducted under vacuum, semiconductor manufacturing, medical equipment manufacturing and research, and the production of space probes and satellites.
