IC LED Driver

What Is an IC Led Driver?

An IC LED driver is a specialized circuit designed for the stable and versatile operation of LED lighting.

LEDs can have their lighting state affected by environmental factors such as surrounding temperature, even when supplied with a constant voltage. To maintain consistent brightness, current regulation is necessary. The IC LED driver provides a constant current that is ideal for LEDs. Depending on the product, it may also include dimming functions and control features via communication, making it suitable for a diverse range of LED-based products.

There are two primary types of dimming functions: current dimming, which controls the amount of current, and pulse width modulation (PWM) dimming, which controls the ratio of illumination time. PWM dimming, more commonly used in IC LED Drivers, allows for greater flexibility in dimming without altering the color temperature. However, it may cause flickering, which some people might perceive as a drawback.
