Radar Level Transmitter

What Is a Radar Level Transmitter?

A radar level transmitter is a device used to measure the level of liquids or solids using radar.

Radar operates through the emission and reception of radio waves, measuring the distance to a target by analyzing the reflected waves. Noteworthy features of radar include its resilience to environmental influences like dirt or corrosion, real-time monitoring of liquid level changes, and the capability for long-distance measurements. The primary applications of radar encompass measuring liquid levels in tanks, monitoring processes in plants and factories, and gauging cargo levels in the maritime industry.

Two fundamental methods employed in radar systems are the pulse radar method and the FMC (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) method. While the pulse radar method is less accurate compared to FMC, it offers cost-effectiveness. On the other hand, the FMC method, with its compatibility for long-distance measurements, provides distinct advantages in certain applications.
