RF Power Meter

What Is an RF Power Meter?

RF power meters are instruments used to measure the power of radio frequency (RF) signals. Since RF signals are difficult to measure with conventional meters, these devices directly measure the power.

There are two primary measurement methods: the thermoelectric conversion method, which converts current into heat and then measures it by converting the heat into voltage, and the diode detection method, which uses a diode to convert the RF signal into direct current and measures the voltage or current.

The range of power and frequency that can be measured varies by product. RF power meters are crucial in fields like communication equipment and electronic device development and manufacturing, as well as in measurement and evaluation. Selecting a meter with the appropriate measurement method and range is vital for specific applications.
