Uv Radiometer

What Is a UV Radiometer?

A UV radiometer is an instrument designed to measure the intensity of ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Some models can measure the full spectrum of UV wavelengths, including UVA, UVB, and UVC, while others are calibrated to measure specific wavelengths only.

UV radiometers are commonly used to monitor the performance and stability of various types of UV lamps. These include high and low-pressure mercury lamps, metal halide lamps, UV fluorescent lamps, UV germicidal lamps, psoralen UVA (PUVA) therapy lamps, and industrial UV lamps.

When a UV radiometer indicates low UV output, it suggests that the lamp is nearing the end of its lifespan and requires replacement.
