Router Bit

What Is a Router Bit?

A router bit is a cutting tool that attaches to the tip of a router, which is a tool commonly used in woodworking.

Routers are used for drilling holes and chamfering edges. The type of processing they can do varies depending on the shape of the bit.

For drilling holes, straight bits or spiral bits are commonly used. Chamfer bits, used for beveling, often have a bearing at the tip, allowing the rotating part to follow the surface smoothly.

Other types include grooving bits, extremely fine bits for precision work, and jointing bits, among others.
