Rubber Flooring

What Is Rubber Flooring?

Rubber flooring is a type of flooring that incorporates rubber material to cover floor surfaces. Installation methods include laying tile-like or sheet-like rubber flooring or applying elastic urethane resin-based coatings. While tile-shaped rubber flooring is common, sheet-shaped options offer easier installation and less dirt accumulation at seams. Unlike PVC flooring, which raises environmental and health concerns, rubber flooring, made mostly of natural or synthetic rubber, is considered a cleaner and safer alternative.

Uses of Rubber Flooring

Rubber flooring is known for its mechanical strength, elasticity, impact resistance, and abrasion resistance. Available in various hardness and thickness levels, some rubber flooring also features oil resistance and antibacterial properties. This versatility allows rubber flooring to be tailored to different environments. For example, hard rubber flooring suits ballparks and golf course clubhouses, while softer types are ideal for housing complexes due to their comfort and sound-deadening qualities. Oil-resistant rubber flooring is suitable for factories, and antibacterial variants are beneficial in food production and medical facilities.
