Tank Containers

What Is a Tank Container?

A tank container is a tank for transportation that can transport 120 to 130 drums of liquid at a time in a single tank container.

The structure of a tank container differs significantly from that of a typical dry container in that the tank itself is supported by an outer frame.

Tank containers with the ISO name have a structure that conforms to the ISO international standard, so they are very safe and can be used for overseas transportation.

Uses of Tank Containers

Tank containers can be used to transport anything liquid, including fruit juices, natural water, wine, soy sauce, food ingredients such as palm oil and beef tallow, pharmaceuticals, and hazardous materials such as liquid chemicals and petroleum raw materials.

Some tank containers can also transport gases such as argon, carbon dioxide, and ethane.

Therefore, they are used not only by transportation companies and shipping companies that transport liquids but also by food companies, chemical companies, etc.

Principle of Tank Containers

Tank containers are versatile containers that can be used to transport and store all kinds of liquids, from food to chemicals, crude oil, and other hazardous materials, as well as gases and other substances that cannot be transported in ordinary containers.

Furthermore, tank containers can be transported in larger quantities and are easier to load and unload than dry containers transported in drums, and the tank containers themselves can be used repeatedly over long periods. Furthermore, the tank container itself can be used repeatedly over a long period and does not require environmentally friendly packaging or packing materials, making it an environmentally friendly container that reduces costs and waste.

Tank containers can be stacked like ordinary containers, saving space for shipping, temporary storage, etc. They can also be used as is for road, rail, and ocean transport, as well as for temporary outdoor storage.

Since it is loaded on a chassis (trailer), the tractor (towing vehicle) can be detached and used for towing other chassis, the tank container can be loaded and unloaded, and the chassis itself can be used for other purposes.

Furthermore, unlike tank lorries, the tank container is not partitioned into separate compartments for each volume (a breakwater can be added), but is a single-chamber structure, making it easy to load, unload, and wash the tank container.

The system is fully equipped with all necessary auxiliary facilities for filling, discharging, and maintenance of liquids, enabling safe handling and quality maintenance during transportation, as well as seamless door-to-door transportation without transshipment. Since it is ISO compliant, there is no need to install special equipment at the factory, and it can be filled and unloaded, thus reducing labor time and costs.

Furthermore, tank containers meet the requirements as containers for filling hazardous materials, thus simplifying the procedures for transporting hazardous materials.

This method of transportation using tank containers is rapidly becoming popular not only in developed countries but also in emerging countries because it does not require large-scale facilities.
