Trailer Connector

What Is a Trailer Connector?

Trailer connectors link trailers to towing vehicles.

These connectors, usually mounted on the towing vehicle’s rear, convey electrical and control signals, including brake signals, to the trailer.

They often come in 7-pin or 4-pin configurations. The 7-pin is for larger trailers, carrying signals for brake lights, tail lights, turn signals, reverse lights, and trailer brakes. The 4-pin is for smaller trailers, handling basic lighting functions.
