HVAC Pump

What Is an HVAC Pump?

An HVAC pump is a pump used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

It is primarily employed for the discharge of condensate water and the circulation of refrigerant, with two main types: condensate pumps and refrigerant pumps. Condensate pumps are designed to remove condensate water generated by HVAC equipment. They effectively drain water collected from evaporators into drainage systems or external drain pipes, contributing to moisture management during the cooling process and enhancing system efficiency.

Conversely, refrigerant pumps are used to circulate refrigerant within the HVAC system. They facilitate efficient refrigerant circulation between indoor and outdoor units, enabling heating and cooling processes. HVAC pumps are driven by various types of motors, with single-phase or three-phase induction motors being the most common choices.
