Polyester Adhesive

What Is a Polyester Adhesive?

A polyester adhesive is an adhesive with polyester resin as its main component.

Hardening occurs by mixing polyester resin with the curing agent, polyisocyanate. Through this reaction, the polyester resin bonds with the surface of the adherend, creating a robust adhesive strength.

It finds widespread use in automotive components, electrical equipment, construction materials, textiles, and other fields where its characteristics are required. The adhesive mechanism is classified into chemical bonding, mechanical bonding, and penetration bonding, each catering to different applications.

Characterized by heat resistance, chemical resistance, water resistance, high strength, and versatility, polyester adhesive can adapt to various adherends. However, it is important to pay attention to the mixing ratio of the curing agent during use, and sufficient curing time is necessary as the hardening process takes time. Due to its high volatility, adequate ventilation is also required.
