A finned tube is a type of heat exchanger tube characterized by fins (extended surfaces) on its exterior.
These tubes are used to efficiently transfer thermal energy in cooling and heating processes.
Their design allows for material selection based on specific requirements, and both fin pitch and dimensions can be customized within manufacturing limits.
Typically made of metal, finned tubes facilitate heat exchange by having liquid flow inside the tubes and gas on the finned exterior.
There are mainly two types of finned tubes: Elliptical Finned Tubes and Plate Finned Tubes.
