Piezometers

What Is a Piezometer?

A Piezometer, often confused with a manometer, is an instrument primarily used for measuring the pressure in fluids.

Piezometers come in various forms, including disks, tubes, films, hemispheres, sheets, diaphragms, and thin films made from materials such as ceramics, polymers, tourmaline, single crystals, and quartz.

Piezoelectric materials are substances that convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. When a voltage is applied, they deform, and when force is applied, they generate voltage. The measurement of piezoelectric variables allows for the detection of pressure-related changes.
