What Is a Pumping Skid?
A Pumping Skid, also referred to as a Pump Skid, is a compact, integrated unit that combines pumps and related piping on a single frame. This system is particularly useful in fluid handling applications and is designed to efficiently manage tasks such as fluid filling, discharge, and cooling.
The skid typically incorporates various components including pumps for transferring gases or liquids, storage and cooling tanks, valves, pressurization and depressurization control devices, vacuum pipelines, and more, all seamlessly integrated into one system. This integrated approach not only streamlines the process but also simplifies installation and transportation, as it eliminates the need for extensive on-site assembly and setup.
Pumping Skids are widely used in industries that require the transport of gases, such as LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), and are available in various sizes, including smaller, mobile versions for transporting substances like liquid nitrogen. Their versatility and efficiency make them indispensable in many industrial settings.
