Landscape Fabric

What Is Landscape Fabric?

Landscape fabric is a specially designed sheet used to protect crops and other elements in outdoor spaces. While it shares similarities with root barrier sheets, it differs from weed barrier sheets, which prevent weed growth by blocking ultraviolet rays and moisture. These types of sheets are typically not used together.

Constructed from non-woven fabric coated with synthetic resins like polypropylene, landscape fabric is engineered to be impermeable. It is designed for durability, featuring tensile strength, water resistance, and pressure resistance to maintain its functional integrity.

Uses of Landscape Fabric

Landscape fabric is utilized in various settings, including parkways in parks, road pavement, interlocking block protection, planting strips, and green belts. It serves to protect utility ditches and water and sewer pipes, especially in areas where power and telephone lines are underground. It’s also used for protecting underground storage and infiltration tanks, as root-resistant sheets for rooftop greenery, and in water reservoirs due to its impermeable nature. Additionally, landscape fabric is employed for roadbed reinforcement.
