Height Adjustment Pin

What Is a Height Adjustment Pin?

A height adjustment pin is a critical component used in machining processes where precise height accuracy is essential. These pins are manufactured with dimensional tolerances as low as 0/+0.01 mm and come in various specifications and shapes.

Different fixing methods are available post-height adjustment, and the choice of material can be tailored to specific applications. For situations where standard market products are inadequate, custom-made height adjustment pins with special specifications are an option.

Uses of Height Adjustment Pins

Height adjustment pins are primarily used for adjusting the height of jigs and bases in production and manufacturing settings. They are designed to ensure that the tip of the pin has a wide, flat surface like a bolt head for precise positioning. In cases where positioning requirements are stringent, a tapered flange may also be used.

Available in various types, including flat, spherical, and threaded designs, height adjustment pins can be selected based on the specific requirements of the application.

How to Select Height Adjustment Pins

1. Fixing Method: Options include press-fit, female screw, male screw, or bolt fixing. The external dimensions vary based on the chosen method.

2. Tip Shape: Available shapes include flat, tapered R, and set screws. Taper R refers to a 60° taper with varying tip radii depending on the shaft diameter.

3. Material: Options include steel (SKS3 or equivalent), stainless steel (SUS304, SUS440C, or 13Cr), and polyacetal.

4. Surface Treatment: Choices like hard chrome plating and iron oxide coating are available.

5. Quenching: Options include with or without quenching.

6. Height Tolerance: High precision types (0/+0.01mm) and medium precision types (0/+0.05mm) are available.
