Collapsible Crate

What Is a Collapsible Crate?

Collapsible CratesA collapsible crate, often with a mesh structure, resembles the mesh pallets used in logistics. These crates are prevalent in the agricultural industry for transporting harvested goods. A variant of these crates is the steel container.

For heavy agricultural produce like cabbages and squashes, metal collapsible crates are recommended. Plastic versions are noted for their cost-effectiveness and accessibility.

Uses of Collapsible Crates

Collapsible crates are primarily used for transporting and storing agricultural products, particularly suitable for heavy items like potatoes, onions, cabbages, and squashes. With the addition of a net liner, they can also accommodate smaller grains such as rice, wheat, and soybeans.

There are two types: assembled containers, connected by pins or handles, and integrated containers, linked by coils. Both types can be folded and stacked for space-efficient storage and even when unfolded, they allow multi-layer stacking.

Principles of Collapsible Crates

Collapsible crates facilitate direct transportation of harvested vegetables to processing plants, enhancing work efficiency by eliminating repacking needs and reducing material costs, such as corrugated cardboard.

Their mesh structure offers excellent air permeability, preventing corrosion and spoilage. Additionally, this design minimizes contact between the container walls and contents, reducing damage during packing.

These crates are user-friendly, easily assembled, and collapsible for convenient storage. The uniform sizing enables neat stacking. Large metal crates are ideal for storing, drying, and transporting bulky agricultural products, while smaller plastic ones are versatile for various stages from harvesting to retail display, ensuring efficiency and ease of handling.
