Single Faucet

What Is a Single Faucet?

Single FaucetsA single faucet, commonly found in various settings, allows for water flow adjustment by turning the handle. It is designed to dispense either cold or hot water, but not both simultaneously. A mixer is typically used for blending hot and cold water.

The design of single faucets varies, with different ranges of movement and water outlet positions. Selection should be based on ease of use for specific applications, such as in kitchens.

Uses of Single Faucets

Single faucets are prevalent due to their simple structure and ease of repair, making them a common choice in public facilities like schools, libraries, pools, and parks. They are also widely used in restaurant kitchens. While mixers have become more popular in home kitchens and bathrooms, single faucets remain the choice for washing machine connections.

Principle of Single Faucet

A single faucet consists of several components: a handle, collar screw, cover nut, spindle, faucet frame, and water outlet. Leakage issues are typically due to the deterioration of internal packings, either at the base of the handle or the faucet frame, requiring replacement of the packing or the entire faucet panel.

Single faucets can be categorized based on their mounting style: side-mounted (wall-mounted) and stand-mounted (on a stand). Horizontal faucets, commonly used in homes, allow 360° rotation of the spout and include types with hose couplings for washing machines. Standing faucets, suitable for washbasins, come in push-button and automatic sensor-activated varieties.
