Video Card

What Is a Video Card?

A video card, also known as a video adapter or graphics card, is an expansion card that plays a crucial role in rendering images on a computer screen.

This component is at the heart of a computer’s video processing capabilities, encompassing the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), video memory, and various output ports. The GPU, upon directives from the CPU, is tasked with creating images that are temporarily housed in video memory. These images are subsequently sent to the monitor via the output ports for display.

Video cards find their importance in a multitude of applications such as gaming, video editing, graphic design, and 3D modeling, offering enhanced graphics that are both smooth and rich in detail.
