Electronic Imaging

What Is Electronic Imaging?

Electronic imaging is a broad field that encompasses the capture and digital processing of optical images. It is a key technology in the creation and manipulation of digital photographs, videos, and other visual information formats.

At the heart of electronic imaging is the conversion of light into electrical signals, a task performed by light sensors. These sensors translate various properties of light, such as intensity and color, into digital data. Following this conversion, the digital signals undergo processing by image processing systems, where sophisticated algorithms adjust color balance, brightness, and contrast, and perform tasks like image compression and encoding.

Thanks to its versatility and efficiency, electronic imaging finds extensive applications across numerous fields, including but not limited to, digital photography, video recording, facial recognition technology, medical imaging diagnostics, and surveillance systems.
