What Is a Single Drum Roller?
A single drum roller is a construction machine employed for compressing and smoothing surfaces such as pavement and soil.
It features a large cylindrical drum (roller), exerting weight onto the ground to generate compaction force. This force causes the surface of the soil or pavement to adhere and smooth out uneven areas. Single drum rollers are commonly used in paving operations for roads, parking lots, and airport runways, among others. They are also utilized in civil engineering and construction sites to compact soil for easier leveling.
Powered by a diesel engine, the single drum roller is operated by the operator from the driver’s seat. The compacted ground forms a stronger foundation, enhancing the durability and stability of the pavement.
