Brine Injector

What Is a Brine Injector?

A brine injector is a device used to inject saltwater into food or wood.

The operating principle involves injecting saltwater under pressure and allowing it to penetrate the interior of the food or wood. There are two basic types: mechanical and manual. Mechanical injectors can inject large amounts of saltwater in a short time using compressed air or hydraulic pressure, while manual injectors are suitable for small-scale operations.

They are used in various applications such as preserving meat and fish in the food industry and for preservation and insect resistance in wood processing. The mechanism consists of three basic elements: the injection nozzle, pressure source, and brine tank. The injection nozzle, typically made of metal, injects the saltwater, while the pressure source, usually compressed air or hydraulic pressure, supplies the saltwater. The brine tank, usually made of metal, stores the saltwater. The key feature is the ability to allow saltwater to penetrate the interior of food or wood, enhancing preservation and anti-corrosion effects.
