What Is a Wet Bench?
A wet bench is an essential equipment in the manufacturing process of electronic components and semiconductors, designed for the cleaning of substrates and components. This process is crucial for removing surface contaminants and impurities, thereby enhancing the quality and yield of the final products.
The cleaning process utilizes solutions that may be alkaline or acidic, chosen based on the specific needs of the items being cleaned. Wet benches find applications across various industries, including electronics manufacturing, semiconductor fabrication, medical devices, and automotive components, facilitating improved product quality and dependable cleaning operations.
Wet benches operate on two main mechanisms: batch-type and continuous-type. The batch-type method involves immersing components in a cleaning solution all at once, which is valued for its simplicity and cost-effectiveness. The continuous-type method, on the other hand, allows for the substrates or components to be fed continuously into the cleaning solution, enabling higher productivity and making it well-suited for large-scale production environments.
