Insulating Sleeve

What Is an Insulating Sleeve?

An insulating sleeve is a cylindrical covering designed to insulate and protect electrical components like wires and terminals.

The choice of material for these sleeves varies based on the specific electrical components and the environmental conditions they are exposed to. Common materials include polyethylene and other plastics, which are cost-effective and lightweight; rubber variants like ethylene-propylene for flexibility and water resistance; and silicone-based materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene, known for high heat and oil resistance.

Insulating sleeves come in various types to suit different applications, ranging from industrial to electronic uses. This includes color-coded sleeves for easy identification of wire sizes and types, and heat-shrinkable sleeves that form a tight seal around components when heated.
