Oil Valve

What Is an Oil Valve?

An Oil Valve is a valve designed to control the flow of oil in various systems.

This valve features a built-in thermoelement that reacts to changes in oil temperature, automatically opening or closing the oil circulation path. Its primary role is in managing the flow of engine oil, which acts as a lubricant in engines.

Oil temperature can be affected by driving conditions, like high-speed driving or high ambient temperatures. When the oil temperature exceeds 130 °C, the oil quality may deteriorate, leading to potential malfunctions.

An Oil Valve plays a crucial role in preventing these issues. For instance, in engines with a directly attached oil cooler, there is a risk of oil pressure buildup and damage to the cooler at low temperatures. The Oil Valve helps by redirecting the oil flow away from the cooler when temperatures are low, and towards it when temperatures rise, thereby protecting the cooler from damage due to pressure buildups.
