What Is an Inductor Choke?

An inductor choke is a passive component used to achieve stable current supply in power lines and suppress high-frequency noise.

Generally constructed with coil-shaped conductors and a magnetic core, it impedes high-frequency currents and allows low-frequency currents to pass through, based on a property called inductance. Inductor chokes operate based on the properties of inductance and the magnetic core. The current flowing through the coil generates a magnetic field, which attempts to sustain the current. Additionally, the magnetic core concentrates the magnetic field, effectively suppressing high-frequency noise.

Inductor chokes find applications in various fields such as power circuits, electronic devices, communication equipment, and medical devices.
