What Is a Charging Pile?
A charging pile is a device used to charge the batteries of electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHVs).
It works by taking power supplied from a power outlet into the charging pile, connecting it to the charging port of an electric vehicle via a charging cable, and then supplying electricity from the charging pile to the vehicle’s battery. One of the characteristics of a charging pile is its ability to charge electric vehicle batteries in a short amount of time.
Charging piles are utilized in various locations such as shopping malls, convenience stores, public areas, corporate premises, and homes. There are two main types of charging piles: alternating current (AC) charging piles and direct current (DC) charging piles. DC charging piles are suitable for fast charging as they offer shorter charging times.
