Pulsation Dampener

What Is a Pulsation Dampener?

A pulsation dampener is a device specifically designed to absorb and reduce pulsations in systems involving pumps and valves.

Its primary functions include mitigating pulsations from pumps and valves, minimizing vibration and noise in pipelines, and protecting equipment from potential damage due to pulsation-related stresses.

There are two principal types of pulsation dampeners: air and liquid dampeners. Air dampeners use a contained air chamber that reacts to pressure fluctuations, effectively absorbing pulsations. Liquid dampeners, on the other hand, employ a liquid medium for pulsation absorption. Though liquid dampeners provide superior performance in dampening pulsations, they typically have a more complex design and are more expensive to implement than air dampeners.
