HDPE Pipe

What Is an HDPE Pipe?

HDPE pipe, short for high-density polyethylene pipe, is a type of pipe made from high-density polyethylene, known for its excellent corrosion and pressure resistance, as well as durability in various weather conditions.

These pipes are widely used in numerous applications including water supply systems, gas pipelines, sewage and drainage systems, agricultural irrigation, and industrial piping. One of their key attributes is their remarkable corrosion resistance, which contributes to a prolonged lifespan and lower lifecycle costs. Additionally, HDPE pipes are capable of handling high-pressure fluid transport and exhibit strong resilience against diverse environmental conditions.

HDPE pipes are classified based on the Standard Dimension Ratio (SDR), indicating wall thickness and pressure resistance. Common SDR classifications include SDR11, SDR17, and SDR26, where a lower SDR number denotes thinner walls and less pressure resistance.
