Suspended Scaffolding

What Is Suspended Scaffolding?

Suspended Scaffolding refers to a scaffold system utilized in scenarios where traditional ground-based scaffolding assembly is impractical.

This type of scaffolding is essential in various applications, including the construction and maintenance of high-rise buildings, bridge construction, and plant facility work.

There are primarily two types of suspended scaffolding: “suspended bracket scaffolding” and “suspended frame scaffolding.” Suspended bracket scaffolding consists of hanging elements like single or angle steel pipes arranged in a “T” shape. In contrast, suspended frame scaffolding involves directly suspending the scaffold structure from an overhead support.

It’s critical to recognize that installing suspended scaffolding demands specialized skills and qualifications. While it offers the benefits of eliminating ground-level assembly, thereby increasing efficiency and safety, one must also consider the higher installation costs and increased susceptibility to wind impacts.
