What Is a Drag Chain?
A drag chain, also known as a cable carrier, is a device used to protect electrical cables and hydraulic or pneumatic hoses connected to moving automated machinery, such as belt conveyors.
It reduces wear and stress on cables and hoses, effectively preventing entanglement and damage.
Made of reinforced nylon, drag chains offer low-temperature resistance, abrasion resistance, and corrosion resistance. These qualities make them suitable for use in the reciprocating motion of machinery, where they tow and protect internal cables, tubes, pipes, and similar components.
