What Is a Cold Room?
A cold room is an area within a refrigerator designed for food storage at cooler temperatures.
In household refrigerators, cold rooms are typically segmented into two to three compartments for storing various items such as condiments, eggs, and dairy products. As cold air naturally settles at the bottom, the lower part of the cold room is the coolest. The average temperature in a cold room is set between 3–5°C, while the bottom can reach 1–2°C, making it suitable for perishable items. Near the door pockets, the temperature is slightly higher, usually around 6–9°C.
