Principle of Pipe Cutting Machines
Pipe cutting machines cut pipes mainly by rotating a circular saw at high speed. Other models use plasma or laser cutting. During cutting, frictional heat may cause sparks and cuttings to fly, so be careful and wear a dust mask and goggles. The operation is relatively simple. There are two types of saw blades: manual and automatic.
Check for wobble or looseness of the saw blade. The position of the saw blade, whether on the inside clamp side, outside, or both sides, depends on the model. Fix the object in the vise. Adjust the cutting speed with the electric motor. The cutting position can be checked by a laser or by a pointer. The saw blade is rotated to contact the cutting point on the object to be cut. The cutting surface and the blade are hot and should not be touched. Also, the cut surface may have burrs, so do not touch it with bare hands to avoid hand injury.
Some models use hardened aluminum for the clamping mechanism so that pipes can be cut without deformation.
