The operating principle involves the high voltage sent from the ignition coil reaching the terminal and being concentrated at a single point by the insulator inside the terminal. Subsequently, the concentrated high voltage is discharged between the electrodes of the spark plug, generating a spark to ignite the air-fuel mixture.
The mechanism of a spark plug terminal consists of a metal core and an insulator. The high voltage from the ignition coil is transmitted through the core to the tip.
