What Is a Brushless Gear Motor?
A brushless gear motor is a compact and efficient motor that incorporates a gearbox into a brushless DC motor.
Similar to a brushless DC motor, it operates with the interaction between a rotor containing permanent magnets and a stator wound with coils, with the gearbox controlling the rotation of the rotor.
There are two main mechanisms for brushless gear motors: the inner rotor type and the outer rotor type, each with its own characteristics. The inner rotor type excels in miniaturization and efficiency, while the outer rotor type offers superior torque and strength. The features of this motor include compactness, efficiency, and quiet operation. Additionally, because there is no brush wear or sparking, maintenance is easy.
