What Is a PCB Fuse Holder?
A PCB fuse holder is a device used to attach a fuse to a circuit board.
In electrical circuits, a component called a fuse is used to protect equipment or circuits by detecting and interrupting overcurrents that exceed the designed ratings, such as those caused by short circuits. The PCB fuse holder is an apparatus designed to mount such a fuse onto a circuit assembled on a circuit board, allowing for easy replacement.
It consists of a securing clip to hold the fuse in place and connection terminals to connect to the circuit. The fuse is installed inside the fuse holder and, when overcurrent flows, it generates heat, melts, and breaks the circuit, thereby protecting the circuit from overcurrent. Consequently, fuses need replacement, and fuse holders are widely incorporated into various devices, including household appliances and industrial machinery.
