Oil Hydraulic Pump

What Is an Oil Hydraulic Pump?

An oil hydraulic pump is a device designed to pressurize oil for use in hydraulic systems, which are integral to operating and controlling various types of machinery.

These pumps function based on Pascal’s principle, which states that pressure exerted on a confined fluid is transmitted equally in all directions. Hydraulic pumps are essential in a wide range of machinery, including construction equipment like cranes and excavators, machine tools such as presses, and agricultural machinery like tractors.

Key types of hydraulic pumps include gear pumps, which move fluid through the spaces between gears; piston pumps, which use a reciprocating piston in a cylinder to displace oil; and vane pumps, where rotating vanes alter the internal volume to draw in and expel oil.
