What Are Brush Seals?
Brush seals are devices used to seal the gap between the rotating shaft of a machine and its bearing.
They adhere and seal the gap between the brush and the bearing under pressure applied between them, ensuring a tight seal between the shaft and the bearing. The operating principle is simple: pressure is applied from the outside between the brush and the bearing, causing the brush to adhere to the bearing and seal the gap between the rotating shaft and the bearing. This prevents external foreign matter such as dust from entering the machine’s interior and effectively retains lubricating oil.
The structure mainly consists of brushes and bearings, characterized by high sealing performance and durability. This design makes them suitable for various fields, including industrial machinery, automotive, and household appliances. Brushes can withstand wear and damage, and regular inspection and replacement are easy.
