Wireless Gateway

What Is a Wireless Gateway?

A wireless gateway is a device designed to bridge wired and wireless networks.

Its primary purpose is to facilitate connections between devices that require either wired or wireless access to a network. These gateways are commonly used in corporate, residential, and public settings. Key components of a wireless gateway include wireless LAN modules, wired LAN modules, and a processing unit responsible for mediating and managing network communications.

The wireless gateway operates in two key roles: mediating communication between wireless and wired networks, enabling data transfer, and managing network connections. It performs protocol conversion and handles authentication processes to ensure secure and reliable connections between the two types of networks.
