Bonded Seal

What Are Bonded Seals?

Bonded seals are seals made by bonding metal and rubber.

Utilizing the characteristics of both metal and rubber, they offer high sealing performance and durability. The operating principle involves pouring rubber onto the surface of the metal, adhering it, and sealing through the pressure difference between the metal and rubber. Through this process, the rubber adheres to the metal, deforms under pressure, eliminating gaps, and seals.

Bonded seals are used in various applications such as hydraulic equipment, plumbing, piping, automotive parts, and machinery components. Their features include high sealing performance, durability, heat resistance, chemical resistance, lightweight, and compactness. However, it’s important to note that inadequate bonding between the metal and rubber can lead to decreased sealing performance, and there is a risk of adhesive failure under high temperatures or pressures, requiring caution during use.
