Compression Baler

What Is a Compression Baler?

Compression BalersA compression baler is a machine that hydraulically compresses and packs industrial waste.

By using compression balers, the volume of industrial waste can be reduced by one-third to one-tenth.

After waste paper, cardboard, and plastic bottles are collected, they are compressed and transported by compression balers because they are bulky.

There are two main types of compression balers: vertical types and fully automatic balers, and the force with which they apply pressure varies depending on the model. Fully automatic products can perform almost automatic packing with PP bands.

Uses of Compression Balers

As mentioned above, compression balers use hydraulic pressure to compress and pack industrial waste.

Principle of Compression Balers

The principle of a compression baler is simple: waste material fed into the machine is compressed and crushed by a plate from above using hydraulic pressure. The pressurizing force depends on the machine.

When the machine is used, the waste is first fed into the inlet. Once the inlet is full, press the compression baler switch to activate the compression board. The compression plate comes down from above and hydraulically compresses the waste. The cycle time is quick, about 30 to 60 seconds. When compression is finished, the compression plate returns to its original position. The compressed waste creates space in the feed port, so the waste is fed in again, and the process is repeated until the compression chamber is full. When the input port is still full after compression, the waste is packed.

In the automatic packing type, if a vinyl string of polypropylene or other material is set, it can be packed and taken out with a simple flip of a switch.

The volume reduction rate by compression varies depending on the object. Food trays are reduced by one-fifth, corrugated cardboard by one-fourth, plastic waste by one-third, and flexible container bags by about one-third.
