What Is a Gearmotor?

A gearmotor is a combination of a direct current (DC) or alternating current (AC) motor with a reduction gear. This integration offers substantial space savings and the capability to produce high torque.

In many applications, the rotational speed of a motor alone may be too fast. The reduction gear in a gearmotor adjusts this speed to a more practical level. As a result, gearmotors not only moderate speed but also increase output torque, facilitating the rotation of larger objects.

These devices are utilized in diverse fields such as conveyors, mixers, food machinery, automated parking systems, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, and woodworking machinery.
