What Are Vehicle Cameras?
Vehicle cameras are specialized cameras used in advanced driver-assistance systems and autonomous driving to monitor a vehicle’s surroundings. These cameras play a crucial role in enhancing driving safety and vehicle automation.
There are three main types of vehicle cameras: sensing cameras, surround-view cameras, and driver monitoring cameras. Sensing cameras are typically mounted at the top of the front windshield and are designed to detect a wide area in front of the vehicle, contributing to front-end safety. Surround-view cameras are installed on both sides of the vehicle and provide a view of approximately 1 meter around the vehicle, ensuring safety in close proximity. Driver monitoring cameras, positioned near the meter cluster, are focused on monitoring the driver’s health condition to support safe driving practices.
